Watch This Sp_ce Triumphs at Brighton Girl Awards 2025

The Brighton Girl Awards 2025 was a night of celebration, recognition, and inspiration, and for the team at Watch This Sp_ce, it was an unforgettable evening. Facing strong competition in the Professional Service of the Year category, Watch This Sp_ce won the award, marking a significant achievement for the company. The award, sponsored by Number 24 Estate Agency, celebrated businesses and individuals making a meaningful impact in Brighton and beyond.

The judging panel for this category included Melica Moshiri, a recent contestant on the latest season of BBC’s The Apprentice. With a wealth of experience and insight, her presence added an extra layer of prestige to the competition. For Watch This Sp_ce, winning this category was not just a testament to the dedication and expertise but also a reflection of the strong community support that propelled them to success.

Following the win, Mo Kanjilal, Co-Creator of Watch This Sp_ce, expressed gratitude and pride in the team’s accomplishment.

“This award means a lot to us as a team. The voting round showed us how much people support us and the work we do. To win this recognition from the judges shows us that our hard work is paying off. This was a win for the whole team. We thank everyone who supports us, voted for us and to the judges and Sponsor for their support.”

The victory serves as an affirmation of Watch This Sp_ce’s mission to drive meaningful change through inclusive business practices and cultural competence. The team are focused on leading the workplace revolution.

The celebrations didn’t stop there. The night took an even more joyous turn as Kaia Allen-Bevan, a key member of the Watch This Sp_ce team, was crowned Brighton Girl of the Year. This highly coveted award, sponsored by Gold Arts is given to an individual who exemplifies leadership, community impact, and dedication to positive change. Overwhelmed by the recognition, Kaia shared,

“It is an honour to take home the title of, “Brighton Girl of The Year”, and I’m honestly shocked to have won out of 101 nominees. All of the women, from the top 10 to top 5, and all of those who were nominated, are incredible, and I was ready to scream with joy for whoever would have won…It is one thing to know that you are putting the work behind the scenes to show up, support and leverage collective power within your community, yet it’s another thing to be recognised, celebrated and awarded, especially as a young person.

Across these 6 years of activism, from leading 10,000 through the streets of Brighton during BLM, to taking on TEDx Brighton, to speaking our story in Forbes and BusinessToday, the little me, who wouldn’t say boo to a goose, growing up in Whitehawk, never would have imagined that years later that this would be our future. Especially for women and girls in Brighton and Hove, who are minoritised because of their intersectional identities, I recognise that this award is not just for me – it’s representation to reimagine a future where all women and girls can be awarded for their successes, which is not reflective of our world currently. And, there are many women and girls across the world who I see as my Brighton Girl of The Year, but don’t have the opportunities like Brighton Girl Network are creating to be platformed and highlighted in their town.

However, this is what strives me to keep on going. As your Brighton Girl of 2025, I promise to keep on advocating for our town and beyond, to create safe and brave spaces to break down walls and unshackle the generational chains that can end with our unified power. Brighton Girl is a cycle-breaker, a change-maker, and I look forward to actualising the values of Brighton Girl into sustainable actions with the City Girl Network.

Jade Hylton has passed on the baton to me to run with, and it’s a privilege to join the legacy. And I only endeavour to make you all proud and create bigger waves of meaningful change to benefit all, in Brighton and beyond!”

Their commitment to driving diversity, inclusion, and innovation in business continues to inspire, and this latest recognition is yet another milestone in their journey.

These awards were created by Pippa Moyle, the Founder of the City Girl Network which runs around the country. Pippa’s vision for these awards was to showcase and celebrate amazing achievements. She and her team worked hard to bring together sponsors, supporters, voters, contributors, award-nominees and winners. The evening brought together the whole community with an electric atmosphere at Platf9rm in Hove.

There were 20 categories with a range of sponsors, supporters and contributors for each category. The awards reflected the different elements of a vibrant city. This vision was something Pippa Moyle and team have been working on for months. The plan is to take these awards around the country.
